Course Objectives | The aim of this course is to give students a basic chronological survey of English literature, from its early beginnings to the end of the 18th Century. Students will learn about the social, political, historical, philosophical and cultural characteristics, and the prominent and important literary types, artists and works of each historical period. They will read excerpts from various literary works that characterize each period | |||||||||
