IUS Student Ada Avdagić Wins Bronze for Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Mediterranean Games

The International University of Sarajevo (IUS) proudly congratulates Ada Avdagić, a student of the Visual Arts and Visual Communications Design (VACD) study program, on winning a bronze medal for Bosnia and Herzegovina in taekwondo at the 20th Mediterranean Games in Taranto, Italy.

Competing in the -57 kg category, Ada secured her place in the semifinals with a 2:1 victory over Spain’s Carla Sesar Vila. In the semifinal, she faced Türkiye’s Hatice Kübra İlgun in a demanding match and completed the competition with a well-deserved bronze medal.

With this achievement, Ada won the first medal for Bosnia and Herzegovina at this year’s Mediterranean Games, adding another significant result to her international sporting career.

Balancing university studies with the demands of elite-level sport requires exceptional discipline, commitment and perseverance. Ada’s success is therefore not only an important sporting achievement, but also a source of pride for the entire IUS community.
