IUS Faculty Present Multidisciplinary Research at ERL Conference in Poland
The International University of Sarajevo (IUS) is proud to announce the participation of its faculty at the 8th International Pedagogic and Linguistic ERL Conference, titled “EDUCATIONAL ROLE OF LANGUAGE – LANGUAGE in ACTIONS, ACTIONS in LANGUAGE,” held in Poznań, Poland, on June 5–6, 2025.
Representing the university and the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS), Associate Professor Dr. Ervin Kovačević, Dean of FASS, presented his scholarly work titled “From Words to Actions: How My Least Favorite Professor’s Communication Style Affects My Emotional Regulation in Class.” His thought-provoking research explored the intersection of pedagogical communication and student emotional experience, emphasizing how educators’ linguistic choices can significantly shape classroom dynamics and emotional well-being.
In another highlight of the conference, Assistant Professor Nejira Mulahmetović (Visual Arts and Communications Design – VACD) and Assistant Professor Dr. Nadira Puškar-Mustafić (English Language and Literature – ELIT) delivered a joint interdisciplinary presentation entitled “Letters That Speak, Poems That Perform: Language as a Catalyst of Holistic and Multimodal Learning through Typo-Poetry.” Their research explored how blending typography and poetry can support both personal growth and analytical thinking through collaborative, multimodal learning.
Their presentation showcased a large-scale student project co-led by the VACD and ELIT programs, engaging over dozens of students in a creative exploration of language and design. The initiative culminated in a public exhibition and live performance titled “Artistic Flair: Typo-Poetry,” which exemplified how interdisciplinary learning can inspire empathy, creativity, and a deeper understanding of language in action.
The presence of IUS faculty at this prestigious international forum reaffirms the University’s commitment to innovative, cross-disciplinary research, holistic education, and active participation in global academic discourse.
IUS extends its sincere gratitude to the ERL Network for organizing this intellectually enriching conference and looks forward to future collaborations.
