Capturing Nature's Beauty: IUS Students Shine in 'Naturally' Photo Competition
The International University of Sarajevo (IUS) has been carrying out socially responsible actions focused on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and nature protection for many years. One of these actions is the "Naturally" photo contest, which was announced in April on the occasion of World Earth Day. The competition lasted for a month and aroused great interest among IUS students. About 100 fascinating photographs were submitted to the Selection Committee. Students presented their views of nature through their photographs, inspired by their youthful experiences and expressing their impressive creativity.
The Committee for the selection of works had no dilemma in exhibiting all the submitted artistic works, providing IUS students and employees with a view of a unique spectrum of photographs of nature: a peaceful forest, a mystical sunset, a bright morning, delicate flowers, and amazing scenes from the animal world or an enchanting wilderness.
The authors of the best photos were awarded cash prizes:
- First place: Vahdina Selimović
- Second place: Nedim Sabljica
- Third place: Anesa Spahić
The exhibition was organized by the distinguished Assoc. Prof. Roman Sulejmanpašić, in cooperation with his respected colleagues from the Visual Arts and Visual Communications Design (VACD) study program, Prof. Dr. Meliha Teparić, and Assoc. Prof. Branko Vekić, with great support from the IUS management and the IUS SDG Executive Committee.
The exhibition was opened on Thursday, June 13, 2024, in the IUS Art Gallery, and will be on display until the end of June 2024.
