VACD Master Program students organized an exhibition on the topic of environmental art on Thursday, May 25, 2023. Nasiha Hasić, Ajla Ibrahimkadić, Lea Laleta, Ana Lukić, Emina Čustović, Baysal Sümer, Ermina Ušanović, Halil İbrahim Şahin, Amar Rahić and Mert Kınalı, mentored by Assistant Professor Roman Sulejmanpašić, MFA, exhibited pieces of art through different media ranging from graphic design, recycled materials, installation, product design and animation.
Prof. Sulejmanpašić opened the exhibition and addressed the attendees giving a short introduction to the exhibited students’ pieces of art. Each artwork in its respectful way raises awareness of the dangers the planet is facing and promotes its conservation. It is encouraging the viewer to engage themselves and find ways to protect the nature. As visitors move through the exhibition, they encounter a diverse range of artwork that addresses pressing environmental issues such as climate change, pollution, and habitat destruction.
Senior Assistant, Azra Bičo, PhD, Chair of the IUS SDG Executive Committee also addressed the audience and expressed her thanks to Full Professor Dr. Meliha Teparić, IUS Art Gallery Director and Assistant Professor Roman Sulejmanpašić, MFA, for organizing this event. She also highlighted the importance of making the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development part of the IUS strategic plans. Ms. Bičo congratulated the students on their achievements and added that IUS updates its curricula based on global trends, which will make its students more valuable in the labor market.
The exhibition encourages visitors to contemplate the interconnectedness of all living things and the importance of preserving natural ecosystems. “Green Inspiration” is a call to action, inviting visitors to participate in environmental initiatives and make a commitment to reducing their carbon footprint.
The exhibition will be on display from May 25 until June 16, 2023 at the IUS Art Gallery.
