IUS at Maker Faire Sarajevo 2025: Honoring the Past, Building the Future
The International University of Sarajevo (IUS) proudly participated in this year’s Maker Faire Sarajevo, a dynamic two-day event dedicated to education, modeling, 3D technology, imaging, art, and design, designed especially for families and children. The festival brought together exhibitors from across Bosnia and Herzegovina, along with numerous guests from the region, creating a vibrant platform for innovation and creativity.
IUS presented itself through an interactive and educational exhibition titled “Sarajevo Time Tunnel: Honoring the Past, Preserving the Present, and Building a Better Future – Together with IUS.” Conceptualized and prepared by IUS students, the exhibition offered visitors a journey through Sarajevo’s history, present, and envisioned future.
The IUS project also featured a quiz on Sarajevo landmarks, uniquely facilitated by robots developed by IUS students, adding a fun, tech-driven dimension to the experience and engaging younger visitors in learning through play.
Additional highlights of the IUS showcase included:
Art and design exhibitions by VACD (Visual Arts and Communication Design) students, reflecting creativity, cultural identity, and storytelling through visual media;
Engineering student displays of 3D-printed and CNC-machined artifacts, demonstrating practical applications of advanced manufacturing technologies.
Through its diverse and student-led contributions, IUS once again affirmed its role as a hub of interdisciplinary learning, innovation, and community engagement.
