VACD Students visited Picasso's exhibition in Zagreb

IUS Students from Visual Arts and Visual Communication Design Program (VACD) who attend the Painting II course, visited Picasso's exhibition in Zagreb, on Friday, May 10, 2013, with Assist. Prof. Meliha Teparić.

Here are some students' comments about the trip and exhibition:

Ms. Dženana Haračić: "A trip to Zagreb was a great experience. The exhibition was stunning and different and it was worth travelling five hours. I liked it very much that we had a presenter during the exhibition. After the presentation we had enough time to look at all the masterpieces by ourselves and our professor commented each piece of art separately. All in all, a trip like this should definitely be organized in the future again"

Ms. Amina Frljak: "I think the exhibition was amazing. It was a rare opportunity for us, the students from Painting class, to see the real art from old masters such as Picasso. His paintings left a huge impression on me because his moves with the brush were so easy and simple but at the same time deep and meaningful."

Ms. Amanda Bešić: "It was a great experience to see Picasso's work. It was an experience that happens only once in a lifetime. I will never forget what I saw."

Mr. Nino Lojpur: Seeing Picasso's works live was really a great experience. You get to see a brilliant mind overcoming obstacles set by artists up to that point. This exhibition was a great opportunity for young painters like me to see different ways a person may take".

Ms. Hatice Ozfidan: "On Picasso's paintings, there were different painting styles such as pointillism, realism, abstraction, collage technique etc. For the overall expression of his paintings, I can say that he sees the world differently and expresses it into his paintings. He only painted masterpieces which continue to amaze my generation and those yet to come".
