Fourth National Title in a Row: VACD Student Emina Alagić Inspires with Dedication and Success

The International University of Sarajevo (IUS) proudly celebrates another outstanding achievement by Emina Alagić, a third-year student of the Visual Arts and Visual Communications Design (VACD) study program, who recently claimed first place in the 10,000-meter race at the Senior National Championship held at Koševo Stadium, earning the title of National Champion for the fourth consecutive year in this discipline.

This latest success is another powerful milestone in Emina’s already impressive athletic journey. Over the years, she has consistently demonstrated exceptional discipline, endurance, and determination, building a reputation as one of the country’s most accomplished long-distance runners. In addition to her dominance in the 10,000 meters on track, Emina has also achieved remarkable results in the 5,000 meters, 3,000 meters, cross country, and 10K road races, proving both her versatility and excellence across disciplines.

What makes her story even more inspiring is the continuity of her success. In recent weeks alone, Emina has delivered one outstanding performance after another. After becoming national champion once again at Koševo, she also won the 5K race at the Sarajevo Marathon, following another victory in the Blagaj 5K the weekend before. Her current season has already been marked by exceptional momentum, with 10 victories so far this year.

Emina’s achievements also extend well beyond Bosnia and Herzegovina. During her Erasmus exchange semester in Paris, she competed in six races and won all six, including a memorable victory at the iconic Stade de France. Her international success further confirms her talent, consistency, and ability to perform at the highest level in different competitive environments.

Among the highlights of her recent athletic career is also her victory at a major cross-country race in Arkansas in 2024, another significant achievement that speaks to her growing international recognition and competitive strength.

Adding even greater value to her journey is the guidance of her coach, Sead Kondo, a legendary figure in athletics who has held the marathon and 10K record for 51 years. With such inspiring mentorship and her own extraordinary commitment, Emina continues to raise the bar with every race she runs.

What is especially remarkable is the scale of her dedication. Emina competes in around 50 races per year and wins approximately 80% of them - a statistic that reflects not only her talent, but also her discipline, resilience, and unwavering passion for the sport.

At IUS, we are proud to follow Emina’s journey as it continues to develop from one success to the next. Her achievements are a source of inspiration for the entire university community, showing what can be accomplished through hard work, perseverance, and belief in one’s goals.

We congratulate Emina on yet another extraordinary result and wish her continued success in all her upcoming races and competitions.
